Covenant House Washington honors Monty Hoffman, Founder and CEO of PN Hoffman, as a 2017 Lizzie Award Recipient. Hoffman is being honored with this award because of his deep commitment to build and reimagine this community, while providing needed educational and apprenticeship opportunities for area students. Hoffman’s
vision is aligned with Covenant House Washington’s mission, to provide youth with opportunities and support that transform their futures helping them to become self-sustaining adults and active contributors in the community.

Combined Federal Campaign

of the National Capital Area

Covenant House Washington is pleased to recognize the Combined Federal
Campaign of the National Capital Area as a 2017 Lizzie Award honoree, for their continued success in workplace giving and raising $47 million this year for area non-profits.

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is a 55-year Federal workplace giving tradition that has raised more than $8 billion for charitable organizations. It is one of the largest workplace giving campaigns in the world. The funds raised each fall through this campaign help neighbors in need around the corner, across the nation and throughout the world.

Covenant House Washington recognizes Exelon for their support toward workforce development that help us provide youth with the tools they need to successfully
obtain and maintain employment.

Covenant House Washington recognizes Pepco for their ongoing support and resources that have supported CHW’s mission and program development.

Covenant House Washington values the partnership with WilmerHale, honoring over 19 years of legal, financial, and organizational support.

WilmerHale has a heritage that includes involvement in the foundation of legal aid work. Early in the 20th century, they distinguished themselves as leaders in pro bono representation playing a prominent role in public service activities of national and international importance.

2017 Virginia E. Williams Service Honorees

Covenant House Washington recognizes the OCTFME for their commitment in supporting CHW’s media and videography needs throughout the year. The work of OCTFME has helped to raise awareness of the issues surrounding youth homelessness in Greater Washington.

Joe Clair

Covenant House Washington recognizes Joe Clair for his passion to support youth in the community. Clair has dedicated many hours toward a music apprenticeship, where he has provided CHW youth with class hours, on air experience, and brought in guest speakers to engage and help youth learn the ins and outs of music production and studio technique.

Divine Love Baptist Church

Divine Love Baptist Church discovered Covenant House Washington at Night of Stars gala 2016. Under the leadership of Rev. Leroy Clay III, Covenant House Washington recognizes DLBC’s dedication to provide resources for our young people including care for youth in emergency housing, food for the pantry, gifts to Share the CHeer gift drive, and additional resources to support CHW’s core mission.

MaryAnn Miller

MaryAnn Miller is being honored for her lifelong commitment to public service. Miller has supported Covenant House Washington’s vision in helping transform lives of homeless youth. Miller currently volunteers in many capacities in her continued commitment to elevate the service of Covenant House Washington.

2017 Impact Honorees

NBC4 receives the 2017 Impact Award for its continued leadership as the most highly rated station in Greater Washington. Under Jackie Bradford’s tenure, and through an infusion of resources by NBCUniversal, the station has opened two regional bureaus, launched an investigative team, refocused the station’s community advisory board and created an employee culture that focuses on engagement and feedback.

Covenant House Washington recognizes the work and effort of NBC4 to heighten awareness regarding youth homelessness, hunger, and exploitation by providing two days of extensive coverage during Sleep Out 2016 and throughout the year.
